This varies according to the type of VO required. Please check the Q&A on each section of my site. I follow Equity guidelines for my BSF (Basic Studio Fee) which vary from £250 to £400 per studio hour. E-learning and Audiobooks are the exception, usually charged by the word count for the former and by recorded hour count for the latter. Usage would be added according to the project.
You can pay by bank transfer in US Dollars, Euros or Pounds.
Sometimes I ask for a percentage of the total fee, if the client is based abroad, or if the job requires a substantial amount of studio time and we have not worked together before.
Usage is calculated in various ways and varies according to the product. It will be calculated by the amount of TVR for UK TV advertising, and in Video Games it often consists of a buy-out for a defined period of time. Specific rights can be included. For instance usage on a business website only, or on social media, or as pushed advertising online will command different amounts.

The rule of thumb is that if it concerns a small script change, we can discuss a pick-up fee, if any. After two weeks from the initial recording, or if a substantial amount of the script has been edited, it will be considered as a new booking and a new BSF will apply (not usage, as this will have already be counted in the original invoice)
I am based in London and in France, but regularly travel abroad for work, when remote recording is not an option.
I do, and often in several languages. Most notably I was a live bilingual English and French announcer during the London 2012 Olympics, and I presented in four languages (English, French, German and Spanish) in front of the Armed Forces’ high command for the launch of the new Panther Helicopter. It was epic.
I have a state-of-the-art studio in my homes in London and France. I can be directed remotely via Source Connect or Session Link Pro. I regularly work remotely and have been complimented for the sound quality and connectivity.
Absolutely and I prefer it, as often the client has a specific idea of the delivery they want. Live direction ensures the client is getting exactly what they want and avoids the costly back-and-forth. I often record remotely with client, producer and sound engineer on the line.
Wav form is the norm : 48k, 24 bits Mono, as it is the accepted Broadcast Standard, but I am happy to accommodate more unusual file formats.
Depending of course on the complexity and length of the project, this can vary from 24 to 48 hours. I always aim to deliver as quickly as possible.
Yes, if your project is urgent, a 25% quick turn-around fee is added to the BSF.
It’s best to send me the script/copy in either Word or Pages, in case edits or corrections are needed. If you do send a Story-board PDF, please ensure that you also send a copy of the whole script on one page.
I do invoice and I am VAT registered in the UK.
Bank transfer (BACS) details will be on my invoice. If you prefer to use another method of payment, please confirm this prior to recording so that we can reach an agreement.
